Bailey, Mike Abbott, Patti Wenk, Joe Garza, Phil Neighbors, Dan <br />Wegmiller, Mark VanKleef, Jack Clement, Ray Longoria, Jack Fairchild and others. <br />Mayor Moore called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br />Mayor Moore introduced the ten-minute citizen comment period. Ms. Alma Briggs, San Marcos <br />Area Food Bank, stated the groundbreaking ceremony for the new food bank building would be <br />June 13, 1996, and would like to invite the Council and citizens to the event. She thanked the <br />Council for the funds from the CDBG Program and stated they had been working towards a new <br />building for fourteen years. Kyev Tatum stated the Willie May Mitchell Community Opportunity <br />Center had been completed and thanked the Council for the funds from the CDBG Program and <br />asked that the Council continue their support of the activities provided by the Mitchell Center. <br />-Mr. Tatum stated the Planning & Zoning Commission held a public hearing at the Mitchell Center <br />and had 60 citizens attend. He suggested the Council consider holding more public hearings in <br />the neighborhoods in order to receive a better response on issues. <br />. fayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of two appointments to the Emergency <br />Medical Service Board. Mr. Cox moved to reappoint Fred Guerra and Mr. Guerra moved to <br />appoint Jane Hughson, which passed unanimously. <br />1 fayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of four appointments to the Cemetery <br />Commission. 1,fr. iMihalkanin moved to appoint Ken Kohut, Mayor Moore moved to reappoint <br />Gladys Thomas, Mr. Cox moved to reappoint Dr. Kenneth Long and Mr. Guerra moved to <br />- reappoint Lenora Giesen, which passed unanimously. <br />Mayor Moore introduced for consideration approval of three appointments to the Ethics Review <br />Commission. Mr. Cox moved to reappoint Roxanne McKimmey and Susan Tilka, which passed <br />unanimously. The Council requested the other appointment be brought to the next Council <br />meeting. <br />* Janis K.
