RESOLUTION NO. 2017-18R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN <br /> APPLICATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL <br /> JUSTICE DIVISION FOR A VICTIMS OF CRIME ASSISTANCE GRANT <br /> IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $70,000 TO FUND EXPANSION OF <br /> THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S VICTIM'S ASSISTANCE PROGRAM; <br /> AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER OR HER DESIGNEE <br /> TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS AS NECESSARY TO <br /> ACCEPT AND IMPLEMENT THE GRANT, IF AWARDED; AND <br /> DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. The City of San Marcos finds it in the best interest of the citizens of the City of San <br /> Marcos that the Victims Services Expansion Project be operated for the FY 2017-2018. <br /> 2. Grant funding for such Victim Services Expansion Project is available from the <br /> Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS. <br /> PART 1. The submission of the grant application to the Office of the Governor, <br /> Criminal Justice Division for the Victims Services Expansion Project is hereby approved. <br /> PART 2. Collette Jamison, Interim City Manager, or her designee, is hereby <br /> designated as the City's authorized official for purposes of said grant application and any related <br /> matters, and is the authorized official to apply for, accept,reject, alter, administer or terminate the <br /> grant on behalf of the City. <br /> PART 3. The City of San Marcos agrees to provide applicable matching funds for the <br /> said project as required by the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division Victims of Crime <br /> Act Program grant application. <br /> PART 4. The City of San Marcos agrees that, in the event of loss or misuse of the <br /> Criminal Justice Division funds, the City of San Marcos assures that the funds will be returned to <br /> the Criminal Justice Division in full. <br /> PART 5. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after <br /> its passage. <br /> ADOPTED on February 7, 2017. <br />
