RESOLUTION NO. 2017-18R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION FOR A VICTIMS OF CRIME ASSISTANCE GRANT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $70,000 TO FUND EXPANSION OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S VICTIM'S ASSISTANCE PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE INTERIM CITY MANAGER OR HER DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS AS NECESSARY TO ACCEPT AND IMPLEMENT THE GRANT, IF AWARDED; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. The City of San Marcos finds it in the best interest of the citizens of the City of San Marcos that the Victims Services Expansion Project be operated for the FY 2017-2018. 2. Grant funding for such Victim Services Expansion Project is available from the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS. PART 1. The submission of the grant application to the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division for the Victims Services Expansion Project is hereby approved. PART 2. Collette Jamison, Interim City Manager, or her designee, is hereby designated as the City's authorized official for purposes of said grant application and any related matters, and is the authorized official to apply for, accept,reject, alter, administer or terminate the grant on behalf of the City. PART 3. The City of San Marcos agrees to provide applicable matching funds for the said project as required by the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division Victims of Crime Act Program grant application. PART 4. The City of San Marcos agrees that, in the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division funds, the City of San Marcos assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full. PART 5. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its passage. ADOPTED on February 7, 2017.
