<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />21 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1989-3 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29, TRAFFIC, OF THE SAN <br />MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES DELETING UNNECESSARY LANGUAGE <br />AND ALTERING INAPPROPRIATE TERMINOLOGY AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE èITY OF <br /> <br />SAN <br /> <br />MARCOS, <br /> <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION I. That Section 29-175(a) <br />Ordinances is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />the San Marcos Code of <br /> <br />Sec. 29-175. <br /> <br />Designation and maintenance of <br />within parking meter zones. <br /> <br />loading <br /> <br />zones <br /> <br />(a) In the parking meter zones established under this division <br />the city council may cause loading zones to be designated <br />and maintained in and on such part or parts of such <br />parking meter zones which may be determined by the council <br />from time to time. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That subsections (a) and (d) of Section 29-176 <br />the San Marcos Code of Ordinances is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />Sec. <br /> <br />29-176. Deposit of coin: overtime <br />adjacent to expired meter. <br /> <br />park ing : <br /> <br />parking <br /> <br />(a) When any vehicle is parked in any parking space adjacent <br />to which a parking meter is lcoated in accordance with the <br />provisions of this division, the operator of such vehicle <br />shall, upon entering the parking space, immediately <br />deposit or cause to be deposited a coin of the United <br />States of America if such parking meter shows no remaining <br />time left, thereby causing such parking meter to display a <br />sign or signal for the period of legal parking within the <br />parking meter zone or space. The operator of said vehicle <br />shall be allowed to utilize any remaining time left on the <br />parking meter upon entering said parking space. ... <br /> <br />(d) The requirements as to the depositing of a coin or coins <br />in any parking meter in the City shall apply on Monday, <br />Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday between the hours <br />of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. except for any day declared <br />a legal holiday by the City Council. No deposit of any <br />coin shall be required on Saturday or Sunday. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. That Section 29-179(a) of <br />of Ordinances is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />San <br /> <br />Marcos <br /> <br />Code <br /> <br />Sec. 29-179. <br /> <br />Collection of meter funds. <br /> <br />(a) It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police; with the <br />approval of the City Council, to designate some member or <br />members of his department to make regular collections of <br />the money deposited in parking meters. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. That Section 29-181 of <br />Ordinances is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />San <br /> <br />Marcos <br /> <br />Code of <br /> <br />Sec. 29-181. <br /> <br />Violations of division--report required. <br /> <br />It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to report: <br /> <br />. . . <br /> <br />SECTION 5.
