ORDINANCE NO. 2020-85 <br />CONSIDER APPROVAL OF ORDINANCE 2020-85, AMENDING <br />ORDINANCE 2020-81 BY AMENDING THE TIME AND LOCATIONS FOR <br />EARLY VOTING AND ELECTION DAY FOR A RUNOFF ELECTION TO BE <br />HELD ON DECEMBER 8, 2020 FOR THE POSITION OF MAYOR AND THE <br />ONE YEAR REMAINDER OF THE UNEXPIRED TERM OF COUNCIL <br />MEMBER PLACE 5; MAKING PROVISIONS FOR CONDUCTING THE <br />ELECTION; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY CREATING THE NEED TO <br />ADOPT THIS ORDINANCE WITH ONLY ONE READING; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. On November 16, 2020 the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2020-81, that canvassed <br />returns and declared results of the General Election held on November 3, 2020 and established <br />Early voting and Election Day Polling Locations for a runoff election to be held on December 8, <br />2020 for the position of Mayor and the one year remainder of the unexpired term of Council <br />Member Place 5 <br />2. It has become necessary to amend Ordinance No. 2020-81 to revise the time and <br />locations for early voting and election day voting for the runoff election as set forth below in this <br />ordinance. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 2020-81 is hereby amended by amending Section 6 <br />thereof, pertaining to Election Day voting for the December 8, 2020 runoff election, to read as <br />follows: <br />"SECTION 6.
