Call To Order <br />With a quorum present, the regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council <br />was called to order by Mayor Hughson at 6:02 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021. <br />This meeting was held online. <br />11. Roll Call <br />Mayor Pro Tern Derrick arrived after roll call at 6:05 p.m. <br />Present: 7 - Mayor Pro Tern Melissa Derrick, Mayor Jane Hughson, Council Member Maxfield <br />Baker, Council Member Saul Gonzales, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Shane Scott, <br />Council Member Alyssa Garza and Council Member Mark Gleason <br />Ill. Invocation <br />A moment of reflection was observed this evening. <br />IV. Pledges of Allegiance - United States and Texas <br />Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Scott led the assembly in the Pledges of Allegiance. <br />V. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Garth Haakensonas, a business owner and recent home owner just north of <br />San Marcos, stated he is excited to be a part of the growing business <br />development in the area. He stated that Pacific Mobile is considering opening <br />it's 10th branch sales office and maintenance facility at the H&H Industrial <br />Park located in San Marcos. He highlighted the company and their future <br />growth plans. He asked Council to consider removing the height restriction so <br />the company can complete the land purchase and development at the H&H <br />Industrial Park. Mr. Haakensonas stated the development investment into San <br />Marcos is budgeted to be approximately $5M. The current height restriction <br />for on-site storage of 12' would prevent them from storing thier finished <br />mobile office rental product and force them to look at other alternative <br />locations outside of San Marcos.
