Womack <br />City Attorney Mark Taylor <br />Police Chief Tom Martin <br />Director of Public Works George Boeker <br />Director of Parks and Recreation Rodney Cobb <br /> <br />Also Present: Melissa Millecam, Collette Boruff, Kim McCollum, <br />Jerry Romero, Andrea Guerra, R. G. Phillips, John DeMoor, Duane <br />Tegrotenhuis, Tom Goins, Dr. Larry McKinney, Bill Coddington and <br />others. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MAROCS, <br />TEXAS, EXPRESSING TEH CITY'S POSITION ON PENDING STATE <br />LEGISLATION PERTAINING TO CREATION OF THE TEXAS PROTECTED <br />RIVERS SYSTEM; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Ms. Kissler moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Moore <br />seconded the motion. Mr. Gilley advised the Council he was <br />submitting the Staff's position to obtain the Council's support. <br />The Council voted unanimously for adoption of the Resolution. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE <br />UNITED STATES ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY FOR DEVELOPMENT <br />OF A WELLHEAD PROTECTION PROGRAM; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER <br />TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS AND OTHERWISE ACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY IN <br />CONNECTION WITH THE APPLICATION; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Guerra moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Moore <br />seconded the motion. Mr. Gilley advised the Council we would <br />contract with SWT to collect this data. He advised this study would <br />determine contamination of our water source and that we would be <br />able to move quickly if we find any problems. He advised San Marcos <br />would be one of the first in the state of receive this grant if we <br />get it.
