ORDINANCE NO. 2008-11 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MAROCS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE FUTURE <br />LAND USE MAP FROM "HDR" HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL TO "P" <br />PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL, FORA 29.61 ACRE, MORE OR LESS, <br />TRACT OF LAND LOCATED AT 2910 HUNTER ROAD; FOR AMENDING <br />THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY REZONING THIS TRACT <br />FROM "MF-18" MULTI-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT TO "P" <br />PUBLIC AND INSTITUTIONAL DISTRICT; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. On February 12, 2008, the City Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of San <br />Marcos held public hearings regarding a request to change the Future Land Use Map of the San <br />Marcos Horizons City Master Plan from "HDR" High Density Residential to "P" Public and <br />Institutional and a concurrent request to change the zoning from "MF-18" Multi-Family <br />Residential District to "P" Public and Institutional District fora 29.61 acre, more or less, tract of <br />land located at 2910 Hunter Road. <br />2. Subsequent to the public hearings on that date, the Planning and Zoning Commission <br />considered and voted to approve the requests on February 12, 2008, and recommended that the <br />requests be approved by the City Council. <br />3. The City Council held a public hearing on March 18, 2008, regarding the requests. <br />4. All requirements of Chapter 1, Development Procedures, of the City Land <br />Development Code pertaining to Future Land Use Map Amendments and Zoning Map <br />amendments have been met. <br />5. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the adoption of the following <br />ordinance is in the interest of the public health, morals, welfare and safety. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />SECTION 1.
