Williams <br />Albert Sierra <br />Robert Minnie <br /> <br />Also Present: David Munger, Terry Roberts, Erica Martin, Jake <br />Krauskopf, Jerri Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Arredondo, Corliss <br />Dees, Mr. and Mrs. George Dimmick, John McClellan, Ronnie <br />Labrato, Kaye Kotowski, Allyn Gill, Kenneth Long, Gordon <br />Thompson, Gilbert Tenorio, Jeff Watkins, Chris Bishop, Gary Bond, <br />Charles Stone, Lupe Carbajal, and others. <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos presented a plaque to retiring Council Member <br />Frank Arredondo in appreciation for his services as Council <br />Member and former Mayor. <br /> <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held Monday, January 29, 1979 <br />were approved on motion of Mr. Hansen and second of Mr. James. <br /> <br />The Mayor read the caption of an ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE <br />PRICE AND CONDITIONS OF THE SALE BY THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, OF PART OF <br />LOTS 12, 13 AND 14, BLOCK 6 OF THE <br />ORIGINAL TOWN OF SAN ~~RCOS, FURTHER <br />DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS IN THE <br />ATTACHED EXHIBIT A, LOCATED WITHIN THE <br />TEX. A-6 NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM <br />AREA TO LEO P. CLOUD AND JERRY D. CLOUD; <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A WARRANTY <br />DEED TO LEO P. CLOUD AND JERRY D. CLOUD; <br />AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Hansen moved the ordinance be adopted on third and final <br />reading. Mr. Hyatt seconded the motion which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider the proposed <br />annexation of Luciano H. Flores Drive, .1377 acres of land in <br />the J. M. Veramendi League #1. The City Manager explained that <br />the property had been acquired to the Community Development <br />Prqgram and consisted only of the street which had already been <br />constructed. The Mayor announced that the first reading of the <br />ordinance would take place on February 19, 1979. <br /> <br />Mr. Cavazos next opened a public hearing to consider requested <br />annexation of an 18.30 acre tract in the T. J. Chambers Survey, <br />contiguous with the southwest city limits line in the area of <br />Prospect and Marlton Streets. The applicant, Mr. and Mrs. George <br />Dimmick, were present to request the annexation. Mr. Dimmick <br />explained to the City Council that he wished to construct a <br />retirement village on the property with the first phase being a <br />retirement hotel. He pointed out that the majority of the <br />property to be used in the first phase construction was already <br />within the city limits. Mr. Dimmick said that he understood it <br />would be his responsibility to put in the necessary utilities <br />
