<br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.
<br />
<br />Mr. Arredondo issued proclamations in observance of Children's Dental Health
<br />Week, Heart Association Month and a newspsper collection program sponsored by
<br />Alpha Phi Omega senrice fraternity.
<br />
<br />The minutes of the regular meeting held January 30, 1978 were approved on
<br />motion of Hr. Hansen and second of Hr. James.
<br />
<br />The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider a request for a change in the
<br />zoning of part of Farm Lot 5, from "c" to "P_l". The request was made by the
<br />First Baptist Missionary Church. No objections were received either in writing
<br />or verbally. The Mayor closed the public hearing and read, an ordinance having
<br />the following caption:

<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,
<br />TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 3 OF THAT ORDINANCE WHICH REGULATES
<br />AND RESTRICTS THE LOCATION AND USE OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES
<br />AND LAND, DATED MAY 23, 1966 (VOL. 32) BY CHANGING THE
<br />ZONING OF PART OF F~l LOT 5, FURTHER DESCRIBED BY METES &
<br />BOUNDS IN ATTACHED EXHIBIT A, LOCATED AT 219 COMAL STREET,
<br />FROM "c" (COMMERCIAL) TO "P_I" (PUBLIC).

<br />Dr. Craddock moved the ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. Hansen
<br />seconded the motion which passed unanimously.
<br />
<br />The Mayor opened a public hearing to consider a request for a change in the
<br />zoning of a 3.69 acre tract in J. M. Veramendi League No.1, from "R-I" to
<br />"Dtl. The applicant, Mr. 180m Hale, came before the Council to explain his
<br />request for a zoning change on the above described property and also a zoning
<br />change on a 9.58 acre tract in the same area from "R_l" to lie". Mr. Hale
<br />presented plans for his proposed Mockingbird Hill Subdivision in explaining
<br />the zoning change request. No objections were received to the change in
<br />zoning. The Mayor closed the public hearing and read an ordinance having the
<br />following caption:

<br />RESIDENTIAL) TO "D" (MULTIFAMILY).

<br />Mr. Cavazos moved the ordinance be approved on first reading. Mr. James
<br />seconded the motion which passed unsnimously.
