<br />57 <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS,JANUARY l~, 1974 <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Eddy A. Etheredge <br />I Councilmen William L. Cunningham <br /> Guillermo DeLa Rosa <br /> Luciano H. Flores <br /> David R. Tauch <br /> City Manager James B. Baugh <br /> City Attorney Tom Akins <br /> City Secretary Doriss Hambri ck <br /> Fiscal Agent Curtis Adrian <br />Absent: Councilmen Bill Dibrell <br /> Ross King <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />City Manager, James Baugh, and Fiscal Agent, Curtis Adrian, <br />opened bids on General Obligation Bonds, Series 1974, in the <br />principal amount of $310,000. (see bid sheet attached) Low <br />bidder was reported to be Underwood, Neuhaus & Co., Inc. & <br />Associated. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Councilman DeLa Rosa introduced the proposed ordinance authorizing <br />the issuance of the above described General Obligation Bonds <br />and moved that the ru'e requiring ordinances to be read at more <br />than one meeting be suspended, and that the ordinance be passed <br />as an emergency measure. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Cunningham and unanimously approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Baugh read the caption of the Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS, SERIES 1974, IN THE PRINCIPAL <br />AMOUNT OF $310,000 EOR THE PURPOSE OF CANCELLING, REFUNDING <br />AND IN LIEU OF VALID AND SUBSISTING CERTIFICATES OF <br />OBLIGATIONS OF SAID CITY; AND FOR THE FURTHER PURPOSE OF <br />CONSTRUCTING AND EQUIPPING A PUBLIC BUILDING TO BE USED <br />AS A CIVIC CENTER IN SAID CITY AND FOR THE FURTHER PURPOSE <br />OF CONSTRUCTING AND EQUIPPING A PUBLIC BUILDING TO <br />BE USED AS A CITY HALL IN SAID CITY; PRESCRIBING THE FORM <br />OF THE BONDS AND THE FORM OF THE INTEREST COUPONS; <br />PROVIDING FOR THE,LEVY, ASSESSMENT AND COLLECTION OF AN <br />ANNUAL TAX ON EACH $100 VALUATION OF ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY <br />SITUATED WITHIN THE CITY TO PAY THE PRINCIPAL OF <br />AND INTEREST ON SAID BONDS AT MATURITY; ENACTING <br />PROVISIONS INCIDENT AND RELATING TO THE SUBJECT AND PURPOSE <br />OF THIS ORDINANCE; and declaring an emergency. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. DeL a Rosa moved the Ordinance be finally approved. Mr. Cunningham <br />seconded the motion.
