SPECIAL SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS MARCH 31,1971 Present Mayor Hollis W. Smith Councilmen: Luciano H, Flores Ross King I Herbert A. Yarbrough, Jr. Jerry Zavesky Acting City Warren G. Leddick Manager City Employee Kaaren D. Tate Visitors: Mr. Harry B. Jewett Mr. Harris Koch The Mayor called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. The Mayor explained that Mr. Jewett attended this Special Session to check to see if the City Council wanted to ap- prove the preparation of the Code Enforcement, The Code Enforcement needs to be presented before April 9, 1971. I Mr. Jewett explained that there was a problem of funds. The Department of Housing and Urban Development has the funds for the San Marcos Application. Mr. Jewett stated that San Marcos could not wait any longer than April 9th, because another City has already prepared an application, but it would cost more to finance due to the size of the other city. Therefore, it was their desire to award the service to San Marcos. Mr. King brought up the question of the cost for preparation for the Code Enforcement. Mr. Jewett explained that the company is paid by the hour with a $3,000 maximum. Mr, Yarbrough moved that the City of San Marcos authorize the firm of Clifford aU Cason to prepare an application for Code Enforcement for College Courts. Mr. King seconded the motion. On roll call, the following vote was recorded: Aye: Flores, King, Smith, Yarbrough,Zavesky Nay: None The Mayor declared the motion passed unanimously.
