Worrell <br /> <br />Visitors: <br /> <br />Kenneth Weatherford, Harold Pernod, <br />Willard Thorp, Nernon McDonald.L~nny Cravy, <br />Bill'Veidt, Bernard C,!llender, Jerri Martin <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The Minutes of the April 13 and April 21, 1970 meetings were <br />approved as presented,with a correction pn page three of the <br />April 13 Min~tes, as noted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />David Dailey appeared befo~e fhe Council as spokesman for the <br />Masonic Lodge of San Marcos. He called the attention of the Council <br />tO,a traffic hazard at the organization's property at 1030 ,Belvin. <br />Mr. Dailey proposed that the City widen Belvin Street at that point, <br />removing the curve. He said the Lodge would donate the necessary <br />right-of-way, if the City would replace the stone wall which would <br />have,to be moved. "Dr. Craddock moved that a committee,be appointed <br />to work with the Masonic Lodge on details 'of the proposal, <br />Mr. Zaveskyseconded the motion and on roll 2all, the following vote <br />was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: Contreras, Craddock, Flores, King,Smith, Yarbrough, Zavesky <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the motion c'arried. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced an ordinance <br />Tanglewood#3. Mr. Zavesky moved <br />T anglewood, #'3,on second reading. <br />whichpasseid un,!nimously. <br /> <br />annexing a subdivision, <br />approval of the annexation of <br />Mr. 'Flores second<;d the motion, <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Mayor read a letter from Bryan Baldridge, requesting the paving <br />of a street "from the City' Pumphouse by Spring Lake' to the top of <br />the hill. as it' enter's Spring Lake Hills subdivision". The request <br />was discussed, with reference to the narrowness or the street, and <br />the City's ability to acquire the necessary right-of~way for widening. <br />Visitors participated in the discussion. Councilman Yarbrough moved <br />that the matter be brought before the workshop to be held on the <br />overall paving program. Mr. FIbres seconded th';' motion, which passed <br />unanimously. ' , <br /> <br />The Council received a petition for annexation of property owned by <br />James Tuttle., with a recommendation from the Planning & Zoning Com- <br />mission that a larger tract' be annexed. ,It ~ould include the Tuttle <br />property. The letter from the Planning & Zoning Comfilissiori,. with <br />plat of the proposed annexation, is attached as a part of the Minutes. <br />
