<br />60 <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, JUNE 27, 1975 <br /> <br />Present: Mayor Emmie Craddock <br />I Councilmen Frank T. Arredondo <br /> Ted Breihan <br /> Bill Dibrell <br /> John Hansen <br /> City Manager James B. Baugh <br /> City Attorney Tom Akins <br /> City Secretary Doriss Hambrick <br /> Director, Public Works William T. Friedrich <br /> Director, Finance Earl T. Williams <br />Absent: Councilmen Luciano H. Flores <br /> Kenneth E. Sutton <br /> <br />Also present: Richard Burdick; Leo Poore; Bill Veidt; Susan Leitner; <br />Terry Roberts; Jerri Martin; and others. <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Richard Burdick, representing the Industrial Committee, came before the Council <br />to recommend an industrial zone be established and utilities extended to <br />industrial sites. Mr. Dibrell concurred, stating that he felt this action was <br />a necessity for San Marcos to revitalize the tax base and create jobs. The <br />City Manager reported that extension of water and sewer facilities to the site <br />under consideration by Freidrich Refrigeration, Incorporated, would cost about <br />$40,000 to $60,000, and suggested the funding might come from revenue sharing <br />entitlement #7. Mayor Craddock read a Resolution, the caption of which is as <br />follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />PROPOSING THE EXrENSION OF SERVICES AND BENEFITS TO FRIEDRICH <br />REFRIGERATION, INCORPORATED, TO INDUSTRIAL SITES IN SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS. <br /> <br />Mr. Dibrell moved approval of the Resolution. Mr. Hansen seconded the motion. <br />Mr. Breihan requested the Council defer action until the next meeting when a full <br />Council would be present.
