Womack <br />Barbara Edwards <br />George Boeker <br /> <br />Also Present: Jeff Watkins, Jerri Martin, Charles Hanes, members of <br />the Lions Club and others. <br /> <br />The Mayor Pro-Tem called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration an Ordinance on third and <br />final reading, the caption of which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, GRANTING TO RIVER TAXI <br />SERVICE A FRANCHISE FOR THREE YEARS TO OPERATE <br />AND MAINTAIN A TAXI SERVICE WITHIN THE CORPOR- <br />ATE LIMITS OF SAID CITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />TRANSPORTING PERSONS USING INNERTUBES ON THE <br />SAN ~RCOS RIVER; PRESCRIBING THE TE~4S, CON- <br />DITIONS, OBLIGATIONS AND LIMITATIONS UPON WHICH <br />FRANCHISE SHALL BE EXERCISED AND SETTING AN EF- <br />FECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. James moved to adopt the Ordinance and Mrs. Norris seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously. The San Marcos Lions Club will <br />purchase the River Taxi from the present owner, Mr. Duke. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes introduced for consideration a Resolution, the caption <br />of which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A USE AGREE- <br />MENT BETWEEN SAID CITY AND THE SAN ~RCOS <br />LIONS CLUB FOR THE RENTAL OF INNER TUBES BY <br />SAID CLUB AT CITY PARK FOR A TERM OF SIX MONTHS; <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR PRO TEMPORE OF SAID CITY <br />TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT AND DECLARING AN EF- <br />FECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mrs. Norris moved to adopt the Resolution and Mr. Brown seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Stokes and Council Members then discussed the possibility of <br />setting a date for a Joint Workshop with Planning and Zoning, the <br />Environmental Board, the Executive Committee for Master Plan and <br />the Council.
