M., cst, the <br />Governipg Body of the City of San 1,larcoe met in Spacial Session with the <br />follcwing prosent: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor C. M. Allen <br />Alderman S. R. Beecrpft <br />Alderman W. M. Davis <br />Alderman B. D. Hillburn <br />Aldennan Herwan Korff <br />Alderman H. 'N. Steakley <br /> <br />.t\ full membe::cshJp being present, the meGting ~"Jas called to order <br />by the iviayor 'Nho explained that the purpose o~, the meeting- was for the City <br />hanager to present and report on the Preliminary Plan of SF!fIAGE PLAIr, <br />MODIFICATIONS as prepared by Freese, Nichols & Turner, consulting Engineers, <br />Houston, Texas. <br /> <br />The City /"anager explained the report in detail and the method of <br />modifying the present disposal plant to accommodate the increased loading <br />l!)aking it suitable for anothGr five (5) years. At the end of this period, <br />the plant could. be further enlarged or a new plant built to handle the excess, <br />using the pr'esent plant to care for about 15,000 people. Methods or financing <br />and other related items were also discussed. <br /> <br />A.t the conclusion of the City Managers I pl'esentation of the Report, <br />Alderman Korff made a motion tllat the report on Sewage Plant Modifications, <br />as prepared "by f::ceese, Nichols & Turner, be accepted and that the Engineers <br />be instructed to proceed with 'cne construction d:rawings. This motion was <br />seconded by Alderman Steakley and upon roll call the Ayes and NaY8s were as <br />rollows: <br /> <br />I AYES: Aldermen BGGcroft <br /> Davis <br /> Hillburn <br /> Korff <br /> Steakley <br /> NA YES: None <br /> <br />f'lhereupon Mayor Allen declared the motion approved and instructed the City <br />N:anager to notify the Engineers to proceed with t:1e preparation of the <br />nec8ssaxy constxuction drawings in order that the City might advertise rOl' <br />bids without delay. <br /> <br />The City Manager submitted a suggested street paving plan for the <br />Councils' approval. After a review of the plan as submitted, it was approved, <br />after the addition or Alamo street from Yale to Holland and Dailey Str'eet <br />rrom Nii tchell to Johnson. <br /> <br />I I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />The Council was notlfJ,ed that Mr. Bill Shipp had requested a <br />Building PeD:'li t tD erect a combination hanger and shop on Lot 6, Municipal <br />Airport. The pxoposed height of the building to be 18 feet while the ordinance <br />regulating construction on the airport limited the construction height to <br />15 feet", The pending of a conference betvwen the eM and the City Ivlanager as <br />to any damage to aircraft which might arise as a result of the increased height <br />of the building, and as this additional height was in conflict with both the <br />County and City regulatory Ordinances. <br /> <br />The City Manager Teported that l',rr", Hutchison, Superintendent or <br />Schools, ;Hd contacted him with regards to the extension of utility lines to <br />the new high school site on the Staples Road. The t'iayor requested that the <br />City Manager investigate what the policy had been in the matter of utility <br />extensions to other taxing agencies and to report at the regular meeting of <br />the Council on August 12th. <br />
