Wads, Chairman <br />Jeff Brassell <br />Searcy Smith <br />Absent: Alderillon: S. R. Beecroft <br />B. D. HUlburn <br /> <br />The meeting was called tc order by Mayor Allen. Cn behalf of the Council <br />the Mayo!' expTessed his appreciation to the new members of the Board of :equali- <br />zation for thei-r service to the comrnunity by seIving in this capacity. The <br />oath of office was administered to the Board of Equalization by Mayn Allen. <br />The Mayor and the Council then discussed with the new Board members their <br />duties and responsibilities.. It was noted that the City had a tax survey made <br />listing all taxable real property, and that this survey had been kept up to <br />date. Ii: was explained that th8 function of the Board would be to conect any <br />inequalities in the assessed value of this oroperty. City M~nager Fuller and <br />the Council members discussed with the Board some of the prevalent theory of <br />taxation, including that by which proper'cy is assessed in keeping ",i th its <br />potential earning value. <br /> <br /> <br />Meyor Allen reported to the Council on his recent visit concerning Ranch <br />Road #12 with f,!jr. Ed Bluestein and M1'. TO~Tl K. Wood of the Tex&s Eighway Depart- <br />ment. Previously the Counci 1 Dud approved the City's spending $11,000.00 as <br />their share of -the Highway Department's improvements to Rand) Road #12 \Nithin. <br />the City limits. At the rneeting with illy.
