ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING HElD ON APRIL 25. 1960 On the 25th day of April, 1960 at 3100 o'clock P.M. the Gov- erning Body of the City of San Marcos met in Adjourned Regular Session, Mayor C., M. Allen presiding. ' , I Presentl Mayor C. M. Allen Alderman; W. M. Davis B. D. Hillburn Herman Korff James Tuttle City Manager B. R. Fuller The meeting was called to order by the Mayor. The Council discussed the appointing of a Board of Equalization. After careful consideration it was the unanimous decision of the Council that Mr. Searcy Smith, Mr. CullenCrews>nd Mr. C. C. Wade serve as the Board of Equalization for'1?60, the members of the Board to elect one of their members to serve as chairman. The City Manager reported on a conference with the City Attorney regarding the matter of damage requested by Mr. Wallace Barber, attorney for the' King Est'ate, discussed at the meeting of April l2th. No action was taken by the Council. I The Council discussed a request from Mr. Irv Peterson for fin- ancial consideration resulting from the City having connected the Memorial Hospital tci the sewer line serving the Texana Courts. The City Council recognizes that it has no legal responsibility to compensate Mr. Peterson for the connection, however the Council felt that the City had begun negotiations before the 5-year contract with Mr. Peterson had ex-, pired and authorized the City Manager to pay Mr. Peterson for one tap, this in no way to be construed as the City accepting any responsibility for payment. The Council set Tuesday evening, April 26th, at.8 o'clock as the time to meet with the City Attorney to discuss utilities. The City Manager was authorized to advertise for a vehicle for use by the Police Department, bids to be fmr a standard vehicle with al termate bid to be on a police "special". The City Manager advised that City personnel would assume the responsibility for the Housing Authority and no extra personnel, except a maintenance man, would be employed. It was the decision of the Council to submit names for members of the planning commission at the next regular meeting. The regular order of business was dispensed with to enable mem- bers of the Council to view on the site the proposed "rear" entrance to the Memorial Hospital. After careful consideration of the entrance road, as proposed, it was the opinion of the Council that the entrance, as laid out, had too many Sharp curves, They directed that the County' be noti- fied of their decision and suggest the County Court{'c~nsideration to: I (a) A right-of-way straight in from Loop 82 to the County's easement through the Wren property; or, (b) A right-of-way along the South line of the Zunker property to connect into the Southwest corner of the hospital site pro- viding a straight street into the emergency entrance; or, (c) A right-of-way through the Cullen Crews property.
