<br />-,-';": /-,/ <br /> <br />;;PECIAL MEETING HELD ON JUNE 21. 1960 <br /> <br />On the 21st day of June, 1960, at 3:30 o'clock P.M. the Gov- <br />erning Body of t~e City of San Marcos met in ;;pecial session, at the <br />City Hall, Mayor C. C. Wilson appeared before the Council regarding the <br />rate charged him for water. He explained that he had a private line <br />and that several other customers had tied on to his line. He felt <br />that his rate should be the same as charged inside the city limits. <br />The Mayor explained that all out-of-city customers paid the samc rate <br />and that if he owned the line he could ask his neighbors to furnish <br />their own pipes to connect to the city supply. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Williams and Mr. ;;mith spoke briefly on the City's <br />Ordinance covering peddling. The Mayor asked the City Manager to <br />explain the ordinance and how it was being enforced. After a lengthy <br />discussion, it ~as suggested that the proper Chamber of Commerce com- <br />mittee and the merchants effected meet with the City Manager and City <br />Attorney and attempt to work out a satisfactory ordinance. <br /> <br />A request to "trade" Lots 10 and 11 at the Municipal Airport <br />for Lots 1 and 2, tabled at the last regular meeting, was discussed. <br />Alderman Hillburn moved that the City not trade lots with Mr. Ames. <br />Alderman Tuttle seconded, motion carried. <br /> <br />The approval of an "ordinance" regulating "spear-fishing" <br />within the oity limits was tabled until the Sportsman Club have a <br />director's meeting on June 28th and make a recommendation to the <br />Council. <br /> <br />The City Manager presented a petition received from the Hays <br />County Medical Association requesting the Council "give immediate study <br />to securing the right-of-way for a road tD enter the Hays County Hos- <br />pital from the back". After discussion, Alderman Korff made a motion <br />that the road across the Cullen Crews property, connecting Buggs L2ne <br />with the Hospital entrance be staked out so the Council could view it <br />on the ground. This motion was seconded by Alderman Davis and carried <br />unanimously. The Mayor directed the City Manager to have the sug- <br />gested street staked as soon as possible that the Council might go out <br />and view it. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />A request received from the Hays County Industrial Foundation <br />for assistanoe in utility extension and street improvements at a pro- <br />posed industrial site on the Katy RR at the rear of the John Clark <br />Industry property was discussed. The Council tabled the matter pending <br />additional information as to the size of the plant and the amount of <br />additional sites the improvements would serve. <br /> <br />City Manager Fuller reported that the City is now prepared to <br />process some street paving projects. ~ome of those in line for paving <br />are; Armstrong, Love, McKie, Mitchell, Bishop and Old Post Road. <br />
