Thomas, Paul Rogers, <br />Henry Kyle, Al Walker. <br />City Manager Fuller and City Secretary Reed laid out. on <br />the Council table, a receipt for each payment recorded on the report <br />given to the Council at the regular meeting March 13, 1962. <br />These receipts were substantiated by cancelled checks presented by <br />Mr. Rogers for each receipt in question. A Photo cogy of a ledger <br />sheet and signature card was Burnished by the State Bank & Trust Co. <br />to prove an earnest deposit of $5,000 made by Mr. Rogers prior to <br />beginning of the laying of utility lines in Spring liake Addition. <br />Each receipt was read out and checked off the list by the Mayor and <br />then passed around to each member to check against his list. After <br />proving each entry on the report in questions The Mayor asked Mr. <br />Sutton if he was satisfied that all was correct. Mr. Sutton <br />said he just couldn't understand why the figures did not match the <br />figures he got from Mrs. Brackett, either he was wrong or else he <br />was too dumb to understand. Mr. Rogers asked Sutton for a public <br />apology but Sutton refused. <br />Alderman Younger made a motion that the records be <br />certified by the Council and also to certify that all monies spent <br />and lines laid were paid for in the proper manner and that the City <br />officers and Mr. Rogers be cleared in the matter regarding Spring <br />Lake Hi115 Sub Division. Alderman Hillburn seconded the motion. <br />Ayes: Younger, Ruiz, Korff, Hillburn, Allen. <br />Nays: Sutton. <br />Alderman Younger asked that the question of the six inch <br />line to the Hotel area for fire protection also be cleared up. <br />Mr. Rogers said it was authorized by Mr. Zimmerman to Marineland <br />about 11 years ago. Younger made Motion that since the line was <br />laid without contract with Mr. Rogers for any payment on his <br />part, that the matter be dropped and Mr. Rogers be :free and clear <br />of any obligation. Alderman Korff seconded. <br />Ayes,: Hillburn, AI1en, Korff, Younger <br />Nays: Ruiz, Sutton <br />Alderman Sutton questioned the report given to him on the <br />Hiway 81 Bonds that was given to him at March 13, 1962 Meeting. <br />' He called Henry Kyle to the table~to look into the matter with him. <br />Mr. Fuller showed them the Bank Receipts for all bonds owned and <br />the check book with the balance in the account. Mr. Kyle called <br />attention to the typographical error which amounted to $50,000, <br />but understood the situation: City Manager Fuller said he would <br />prepare a complete report on the Bond Issue for the Council. <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:00 A.
