REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, JULY 22, 1968 Present: Mayor Councilmen: I City Manager City Secretary Absent: Councilman Visitors: Ellis Serur Emmie Craddock, Ph.D. Ronald J.Dannelley Luciano H. Cole, Henry DeFord, Jim Brown, Willard Thorp, G.R. Phillips The Mayor called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. The Minutes of the July 8 meeting were approved as presented, on motion of Mr. Flores and second of Mr. Smith. Jim .T. Brown, Executive Director of the Urban Renewal Agency, came before the Council to request a public hearing on the Juan Veramendi General Neighborhood Renewal Plan, Tex-R-90. He explained~hat this .as the sam~ plan approved by the Council on_Mar:ch 27, 1?67,with one ~xception: ,the City should incorporate the GNRP lnto ltS Comprehenslve Communlty Plan, wlth care not to duplicate any of the work prepared in the GNRP. Councilman Zavesky moved that the public hearing be Bet for 6:00 ~.m,. Thorsday, August 8, 1968, in the Recreation Hall of City Park. Dr. Craddock seconded the motion, which. passed Unanimously. I The Mayor read aloud a letter from J. E. Younger, jr.,. Chairman of the Planning & Zoning Commission, in which he ~tated that a public hearing had been held on a reques~~o rezone two lots in the Mi11view Addition. Since no protest was received, the Commission recommended that the request be grante'd. Councilmen studied a plat of the area, and the City map during the discussion. Dr. Craddock moved that the Council approve a change of zoning on lots 33 & 34, Millview Addition, from R-l (residential, single family) to M ("mixed"), Mr. Dannelley seconded the motion and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYE: Craddock, Dannelley, Flores, Serur, S"l'Lth, Zavesky NAY: None The Mayor declared the motion ~arried. I The Mayor stated the Counc.il was due to appoint three members to the Library Board. A list of eligible persons had been compiled by the Board and submitted to the Council for consideration. Councilmen were asked to submit additional names, if ~esired. A secret ballot was taken. The result being annouhced, Dr. Craddock moved that Mrs. laurencio Munoz, Miss ~uth Thomas and Mrs. Non Douglas Wray be appointed to the library Board. Mr. flores seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
