Brown, Jerri Veidt <br /> <br />The Mayor called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced and read aloud a Resolution accepting <br />a federal grant offer in the amount of $106,260.00. It is <br />made a part of the Minutes. Councilman Dannelley moved <br />approval of the Resolution. Councilman Zavesky seconded the <br />motion , and on roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AYE: <br />NAY: <br /> <br />Dannelley, Flores; Pool, Serur, Smith, Zavesky <br />None <br /> <br />The Mayor declared the Resolution Passed and Approved. <br /> <br />The Mayor read aloud a letter from Greg Cortez, jr., requesting <br />that the City provide public bus transportation. By common <br />consent it was decided that the Mayor write Mr. Cortez, thank <br />him for the suggestion, and tell him the matter had been brought <br />to the Council for consideration.' <br /> <br />The Mayor reported that the terms of Jack Harper, Herbert East- <br />wood and J.O. Paine as members of the Housing Authority Board <br />were expiring. Mr. Serur said he had contacted them, and all <br />were willing to serve another term. Inasmuch as new public <br />housing units will soon be under construction, the Mayor recommend- <br />ed that the members be reappointed. Councilman Zavesky moved that <br />Mr. Harper, ~~. Eastwood and Mr. Paine be reappointed to ~he <br />Housing Authority Board. Couricilman Smith seconded the motion, <br />which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Jim Brown, Executive Director of the Urban Renewal Agency, came <br />before the Council to inform members that the Urban Renewal law has <br />been changed, and it is no longer necessary to hold a public hearing <br />on the General Neighborhood Renewal Plan. He said the separate <br />projects, such as the River Project, and "El Molino" would be <br />held at the proper time in their development. The Council dis- <br />cussed postponing or cancelling the public hearing which had already <br />been called for August 8. Mr. Brown said there were some conflicts <br />with other community events; the Mayor reported a conflict in <br />appointments. After further discussion, Mr. Flores moved rati- <br />fication of 6:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 1968, City Recreation <br />Hall, as the time and place of the meeting, as published and <br />reported in the press. Mr. Zavesky seconded the motion and on <br />roll call, the following vote was recorded: <br />
