<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />68 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 22' <br /> <br />ORDER DECLARING RESULT OF REGULAR CITY ELECTION <br /> <br />THE STATE OF TEXAS <br /> <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS <br /> <br />On this the 9th day of April, 1979, the City Council of <br />the City of San Marcos, Texas, convened in Special Session <br />open to the public at the regular meeting place thereof with <br />the following members present, to-wit: Robert L. Cavazos, <br />Mayor; Council Merobers Ted Breihan, John A., Hansen, Berry R. <br />James; and City Secretary, Doriss Hambrick, and the following <br />absent: Council Members Bob Hyatt and Kenneth E. Sutto~ <br />constituting a quorum, and among other proceedings had were <br />the following: <br /> <br />its <br />and <br />and <br /> <br />Mayor Cavazos introduced a Resolution and Order and moved <br />adoption. The motion was seconded by Council Member Breihan <br />the motion carrying with it the adoption of the Resolution <br />Order prevailed by the following vote: <br /> <br />AYE: <br /> <br />Breihan, Hansen, James, Cavazos <br /> <br />NAY: <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />The Resolution is as follows: <br /> <br />There came on to be considered the returns of an election <br />held on the 7th day of April, 1979, for the purpose of electing <br />the hereinafter named officials and considering the hereinafter <br />described propositions, and it appearing from said returns, duly <br />and legally made, that there were cast at said election 2238 <br />valid and legal votes; that each of the candidates and propositions <br />in said election received the following votes: <br /> <br />FOR COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE 6 <br /> <br />NAME OF CANDIDATE <br /> <br />TOTAL NUMBER OF VOTES <br /> <br />Fred Guerra <br />Herman Caviel <br />Berry R. James <br /> <br />659 <br />350 <br />989 <br /> <br />FOR COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE 7 <br /> <br />Ken Kraus <br />Robert L. Cavazos <br /> <br />970 <br />1173 <br /> <br />FOR COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE 4 (UNEXPIRED TERM) <br /> <br />Gilbert G. Tenorio <br /> <br />1646 <br /> <br />FOR PROPOSITION NUMBER ONE <br /> <br />Amend Sections 3.01 and 3.05 by designating six Council Members <br />to be elected from the City at large, each to hold office for a <br />period of three years, staggered so that two be elected to a <br />regular term each year, and a Mayor to be elected from the City <br />at large to hold office for a period of two years, effective with <br />the 1980 regular City Election. <br /> <br />TOTAL NUMBER OF VOTES RECEIVED <br /> <br />FOR <br /> <br />1254 <br /> <br />AGAINST <br /> <br />391 <br />
