<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
<br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING
<br />ORDINANCE 1978-43, ADOPTED BY SAID
<br />COUNCIL ON SEPTEMBER 13, 1978, WHICH
<br />ADOPTED THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF
<br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
<br />BEGINNING ON OCTOBER 1, 1978, AND ENDING
<br />ON SEPTEMBER 30, 179; AND DECLARING AN
<br />EMERGENCY.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas,
<br />adopted the budget for San Marcos, Texas, for the fiscal year
<br />1978-1979, beginning on October 1, 1978 and ending on September
<br />30, 1979, on September 13, 1978; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, iri accordance with Section 8.16 of the City Charter
<br />of the City of San Marcos, Texas, said City Council declares that
<br />a public necessity exists which requires amendment of said 1978-
<br />1979 budget, said public necessity occurring because of changes
<br />in the personnel structure of said City which make the amounts
<br />originally appropriated for personnel services excessive; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said City Council discussed the need for budget
<br />amendment and funding proposals at its regularly scheduled meeting
<br />on May 14, 1979; now, therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />
<br />SECTION 1. That Ordinance 1978-43 of the City Council of
<br />the City of San Marcos, Texas, which adopted the budget for the
<br />City of San Marcos, Texas, for the fiscal year beginning on
<br />October 1, 1978 and, ending on September 30,1979, on September
<br />13, 1979, be, and is hereby, amended as set forth in Exhibit A
<br />which is attached hereto and is incorporated herein, in words
<br />and figures as shown therein, for all intents and purposes.
<br />
<br />SECTION 2. That the amended budget for the City of San Marcos,
<br />Texas, for the fiscal year 1978-1979, beginning on October 1, 1978,
<br />and ending on September 30, 1979, be, and is hereby, approved and
<br />adopted.
<br />
<br />SECTION 3. That the importance of this ordinance creates
<br />an emergency and an imperative purpose necessary that the provisions
<br />of the City Charter requiring all ordinances be read at three
<br />separate meetings and that no ordinance shall become effective
<br />until the expiration of ten days fOllowing the date of its final
<br />passage be suspended and this provision is hereby suspended and
<br />this ordinance shall take effect from and after its adoption and
<br />publication in a newspaper of general circulation within the City.

<br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of May, 1979.
