<br />179 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1977 - 4 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE ORGINANCE WHICH AUTHORIZES THE PLACING <br />AND MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC-CONTROL DEVICES AT VARIOUS <br />STREET INTERSECTIONS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, BY THE ADDITION OF THREE INTERSECTIONS <br />TO SECTION 1 OF SAID ORDINANCE, AS AMENDED. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Part 1. That Section 1 of that ordinance of the City of San Marcos, duly passeel <br /> <br />and approved on the 14th day of August, 1967, as set out in Volume 34, pages 177-178 <br /> <br />of the Minutes of the City Council of the City of San Marcos, and as amended by <br /> <br />ordinance passed and approved on the 8th day of September, 1969, as set out in Volume 38, I <br /> <br />page 14 of said Minutes, said ordinance and amendments authorizing the placement and <br /> <br />maintenance of traffic-control devices at various street intersections within the <br /> <br />corporate limits of the City of San Marcos, be amended by adding the following street <br /> <br />intersections to read as follows: <br /> <br />(p) The intersection of Sessom Drive and University Drive. <br /> <br />(~) The intersection of C.M. Allen Parkway and University Drive. <br /> <br />(r) The intersection of C.M. Allen Parkway and Hopkins Street. <br /> <br />Part 2. That, except as hereby amended, said ordinances of August 14, 1967 anel <br />III September 8, 1969, shall otherwise remain unchanged. <br /> <br />Part 3. That the public health, welfare and safety being endangered due to the fact <br /> <br />that the present ordinance governing the placement and maintenance of traffic '~ontrol <br /> <br />devices ar various intersections does not presently include the, intersections of <br /> <br />Sessom Drive and University Drive, C.M. Allen Parkway and University Drive and C.M. <br /> <br />Allen Parkway and Hopkins Street; therefore, an emergency exists, re~uiring that the <br /> <br />provisions of the Charter of the City of San Marcos providing that ordinance be read <br /> <br />on three separate days and that no ordinance shall become effective until the expiratiol <br /> <br />of ten days fallowing the date of its final. passage, be dispensed with at thie: time <br /> <br />and this amendatory ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the <br /> <br />date of its legal publication in a newspaper haVing general circulation in thE!
