173 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1976-2 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE III, DIVISION 1 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES <br />OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS BY REPEALING SEC. 2-31 OF SAID <br />CODE AND SUBSTITUTING IN ITS PLACE A NEW SEC. 2-31; ESTAB- <br />LISHING THE CLASSIFICATION OF POSITIONS WITHIN THE POLICE <br />AND FIRE CIVIL SERVICE, THE NUMBER OF SUCH POSITIONS AUTHORIZED, <br />AND THE SALARY SCHEDULE FOR SUCH POSITIONS: AND DECLARING <br />AN EMERGENCY. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore established the number of positions, <br /> classifications and salary in grade for civil service personnel pursuant to the <br /> requirements of law; and <br /> J WHEREAS, the City Council deems it desirable to amend such position, classification <br /> <br />r s and salary schedule to correspond with a reorganization of the Police and Fire <br /> Departments into a Public Safety Division; and <br /> 'WHEREAS, the Fair Labor Standards Act has necessitated increases in the Fire <br />;Trainee and Fi <br />fi <br />ht <br />l <br />h <br />d <br />l <br />h <br />f <br /> re <br />g <br />er sa <br />ary sc <br />e <br />u <br />e; now, t <br />ere <br />ore, <br /> 'I BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> :'SECTION 1. That Section 2-31 of Division 1, Article III, Chapter 2 of the Code of <br /> Z Ordinances of the City of San Marcos, Texas, be, and is hereby, in all things re- <br /> 1pealed and deleted from said Code so as to no longer be of any force and effect. <br /> SECTION 2. That there is hereby enacted a new Section 2-31 of Division 1, Article <br /> ;VIII, Chapter 2 of said Code which shall read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 2-31.
