<br />11 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1975 - 17 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 29 ENTITLED "TRAFFIC", ARTICLE V, ENTITLED "TRAFFIC <br />CONTROL DEVICES", BY ADDING NEW SECTIONS NUMBERED 29-156, <br />"AUTHORITY OF CHIEF OF POLICE TO MAKE TEMPORARY REGULATIONS; <br />EXPERIMENTAL REGULATIONS", AND 29-157, "TRAFFIC CONTROL <br />DEVICE TESTS". <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. That Chapter 29, Article V of the Code of Ordinances of the City of <br /> <br />San Marcos, Texas, be, and is hereby, amended by adding to said Chapter and <br /> <br />Article new sections numbered 29-156, "Authority of chief of police to make <br /> <br />temporary regulations; experimental regulations", and 29-157', "Traffic <br /> <br />control device tests", so as to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 29-156. Authority of chief af police to make temporary <br />regulations; experimental regulations. <br /> <br />The chief of police by and with the approval of the traffic engineer <br />is empowered to invoke regulations necessary to make effective <br />provisions of the traffic ordinances of this city and to make and <br />enforce temporary regulations to cover emergencies or special conditions. <br />The City traffic engineer, by and with the approval of the City Manager, <br />is empowered to make experimental regulations. No such temparary <br />or experimental regulations shall remain in effect more than ninety days. <br /> <br />Section 29-157. Traffic control device tests. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The city traffic engineer may test traffic control devices under <br />actual conditions of traffic. <br /> <br />PART 2.
