<br />22 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1975 - 21 <br /> <br />ORDER AND NOTICE FOR SPECIAL CITY ELECTION <br /> <br />THE STATE OF TEXAS 1 <br />THE COUNTY OF HAYS 1 <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS 1 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />On this the 28th day of April, 1975, the City Council of the City of San Marcos <br />Hays County, Texas, convened in Regular session open to the public, at the regular <br />meeting place thereof at the City Hall in said City, with the following members, <br />to-wit: <br /> <br />Emmie CraQdock, Mayor <br />Frank T. Arredondo, Councilman <br />Ted Breihan, Councilman <br />Bill Dibrell, Councilman <br /> <br />Luciano H. Flores, Councilman <br />John Hansen, Councilman <br />Kenneth E. Sutton, Councilman <br />Doriss Hambrick, City Secretary <br /> <br />being present and among other proceedings has by said City Council was the following: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a petition calling for a vote on Collective Bargaining for members <br />of the Fire Department of San Marcos was presented to the City Secretary on March <br />21, 1975; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said petition was certified to be sufficient in both form and content; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />jlI'Ll!-t.=>sfi/Cy <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of said City deems it ad.isahle to order an election <br />for the purpose of submitting the following proposition regarding collective <br />bargaining, in accordance with the provisions of the Charter of the City of San Marcos <br />and the laws of the State of Texas; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDERED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />That an election be held in said City on the 20th day of <br />at which election the following propositi~n shall be submitted <br />qualified voters of said City for their action thereupon: <br /> <br />May , 1975, <br />to the resident <br /> <br />PROPOSITION <br /> <br />FOR: Adoption of the State Law app:j.icable to "firefighters", which <br />establishes collective bargaining when a majority of the affected <br />employees favor representation by an employees' association <br />and which preserves the prohibition of strikes and lockouts and <br />provides penalties therefor. <br /> <br />AGAINST: Adoption of the State Law applicable to "firefighters" which <br />establishes collective bargaining when a majority of the affected <br />employees favor representation by an employees' association <br />and which preserves the prohibition of strikes and lockouts and <br />provides penalties therefor. <br /> <br />Said election shall be held at the following places in said City and the following <br />named persons are hereby appointed Presiding Judges for said election: <br /> <br />In election precinct No.6, at Guadalupe Hall, in said City, with Mrs. J.T. <br />Avila as Presiding Judge, and said Presiding Judge shall appoint the necessary <br />clerks to assist her/him which shall not exceed four clerks. <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />In election precinct No.8, at American Legion Hall, in said City, with Mrs. C. <br />M. Waldrip as Presiding Judge, and said Presiding Judge shall appoint t~ <br />necessary clerks to assist her/him which shall not exceed four clerks. <br /> <br />In election precinct No. 10, at Westover Baptist Church, in said City, with <br />Mrs. Jack Wood as Presiding Judge, and said Presiding Judge shall appoint <br />the necessary clerks to assist her/him which shall not exceed four clerks. <br /> <br />In election precinct No. 11, at Dunbar Community Center, in said City, with <br />Mr. Yancy Yarbrough as PresidJng Judge, and said Presiding Judge shall appoint <br />the necessary clerks to assistlhetfli;i:m which shall not exceed four clerks. <br /> <br />~ <br />j <br />
