<br />33 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1975-25-R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, SUPPORTING THE RETENTION <br />OF WATER FROM CANYON LAKE IN THE GUADALUPE <br />RIVER WATERSHED AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />ACT ON BEHALF OF THE COUNCIL IN SUPPORT OF <br />THIS POLICY. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, tlle City Council of the City of San Marcos is desirous of <br /> <br />protecting and preserving an adequate supply of water for the citizens <br />of this community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council has been informed that the City of San Antonio <br /> <br />has indicated a desire to procure a major portion of the water stored <br /> <br />in Canyon Lake; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the removal of water from the watershed would adversely <br /> <br />affect the entire Guadalupe River Basin; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />Part 1. That this Council express its support of the retention of <br /> <br /> <br />water from Canyon Lake in the Guadalupe River Watershed. <br /> <br />II <br />I <br /> <br />Part 2. That the Mayor be authorized to act on 'behalf of the City <br />Council in support of this policy. <br /> <br />Part 3.
