<br />44 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1975 - 26 <br /> <br />ORDER DECLARING RESULT OF SPECIAL CITY ELECTION <br /> <br />THE STATE OF TEXAS l <br />THE COUNTY OF HAYS l <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS l <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />On this the 21st day of May, 1975, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, <br />H~ys County, Texas, convened in Special Session open to the public, at the regular <br />meeting place thereof at the City Hall in said City, with the following members, to-wit: <br /> <br />Mayor Emmie Craddock; Councilmen Breihan, Dibrell, Flores, Hansen, Sutton; <br />and City Secretary Doriss Hambrick; <br /> <br />and the following absent: Co~~~~lroan Arredondo <br /> <br />constituting a quorum, and among other proceedings passed the following order: <br /> <br />There came on to be considered the Returns of an election held on the 20th day <br />of May, 1975, upon the proposition as set forth in Order calling said election, and <br />it appearing that said election was in all respects legally held and that said Returns <br />were duly and legally made and that there were cast at said election 856 votes: <br /> <br />FOR ADOPTION OF THE STATE LAW APpLICABLE TO "FIREFIGHTERS", WHICH <br />ESTABLISHES COLLECTIVE BARGAINING WHEN A MAJORITY OF THE AFFECTED <br />EMPLOYEES FAVOR REPRESENTATION BY AN EMPLOYEE'S ASSOCIATION AND <br />WHICH PRESERVES THE pROHIBITION OF STRIKES AND LOCKOUTS AND PROVIDES <br />PENALTIES THEREFOR. <br /> <br />112 votes <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AGAINST ADOPTION OF THE STATE LAW APPLICABLE TO "FIREFIGHTERS" WHICH <br />ESTABLISHES COLLECTIVE BARGAINING WHEN A MAJORITY OF THE AFFECTED <br />EMPLOYEES FAVOR REPRESENTATION BY AN EMPLOYEE'S ASSOCIATIONAlm WHICH 742 votes <br />PRESERVES THE PROHIBITION OF STRIKES AND LOCKOUTS AND PROVIDES PENALTIES <br />THEREFORE. <br /> <br />IT IS THEREFORE FOUND, DECLARED AND SO ORDERED BY the Council of the City of <br />San Marcos, Texas, that a majority of the legally qualified voters voting at said <br />above mentioned election held on the 20th day of May, 1975, voted AGAINST the <br />proposition set forth in the Order calling said election, and said proposition <br />is hereby declared to have FAILED. <br /> <br />It is further found and determined that in accordance with the order of this <br />governing body the Secretary posted written notice of the date, place and subject <br />of this meeting on the bulletin board located in the City Hall, a place convenient <br />to the public, and said notice having been so posted and remaining posted continuously <br />for at least three days preceding the date of this meeting. A copy of the return of <br />said posting shall be attached to the minutes of this meeting and shall be made a part <br />thereof for all intents and purposes. <br /> <br />The above order being read, it was moved and seconded that same do pass.
