<br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF
<br />CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN
<br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
<br />TERRITORY CONSISTING OF APPROXIMATELY 632 ACRES
<br />OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO
<br />AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE
<br />C I T Y OF SAN MAR C 0 S, T E X A S
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, a public hearing before the City Council of the City
<br />of San Marcos, Texas, where all interested persons were provided
<br />with an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the
<br />following described property:
<br />
<br />Approximately 632 acres, described by metes and bounds
<br />in "EXHIBIT An, attached herewith,
<br />
<br />was held at City Hall on the 11th day of December, 1972, which
<br />date is not more than twenty nor less than ten days prior to the
<br />institution of proceedings; pnd,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, notice of such public hearing was published in a news-
<br />paper having general circulation in the City of San Marcos, Texas,
<br />and in the above described territory, on the 23rd day of November,
<br />1972, which date is not more than twenty nOr less than ten days
<br />prior to the date of such public .h-earing; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of San Marcos, Texas,
<br />on the first day of January, 1972, was approximately 4742 ~cres; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the population of the City of San Marcos is estimated
<br />at 20,000 inhabitants; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extra-
<br />territorial jurisdiction of the City of San Marcos, Texas; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and
<br />adjoins the City of San Marcos, Texas; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the above described territory contains approximately
<br />632 acres;
<br />
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
<br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS:
<br />
<br />SECTION 1. The following described land and territory lying
<br />adjacent to and adjoining the City of San Marcos, Texas, is
<br />hereby added and annexed to the City of San Marcos, Texas, and
<br />said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included
<br />within the boundary limits of the City of San Marcos, Texas, and
<br />the present boundary limits of such city, at the various points
<br />contiguous to the area hereinafter described are altered and
<br />amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of
<br />the City of San Marcos, Texas, to wit:
<br />
<br />6~2 acres, more or less, metes and bounds description
<br />being attached herewith as "EXHIBIT A".
