128 ORDINANCE ~8~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING SECTION 31-3 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS BY DECREASING THE NUMBER OF MEMBERS ON THE SAN MARCOS AIRPORT COMMISSION AND DECLAR- ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That section 31-3 of the Code of Ordinances, City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 31-3. Composition; qualifications and appointments of members. The airport commission shall consist of seven (7) members, Two (2) members of the commission may be nonresidents of the City of San Marcos; all other members of the commission shall be residents of the City of San Marcos. Membership to the commission shall be established by appointment by the city council, and appointments shall be made at the first regular meeting in January, members shall serve for a Period of two (2) years, except that vacancies or newly created positions shall be filled for the un- expired term to be filled. Terms of memberships shall be as follows: Three (3) members shall serve until' the first regular meeting of the city council in January of even-numbered years and four (4) mem- bers shall serve until the first regular meeting 'of the city council in January of odd-numbered years. SECTION 2. That ~his Ordinance shall be in full force and effect ten (10) days from and after passage and publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the area.
