<br />1973-13~ <br /> <br />-< l' <br />.- ! <br />'....'"' <br /> <br />ORDER DECLARING RESULT OF SPECIAL CITY OFFICER ELECTION <br /> <br />THE STATE OF TEXAS X <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS X <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />On this the 2nd day of May, 1973, the City Council of the <br />City of San Marcos, Texas, convened in Recessed Special <br />Session open to the public at the regular meeting place thereof <br />with the following members present, to-wit: <br /> <br />Eddy A. Etheredge, Mayor; Councilmen Guillermo DeLa Rosa, <br />Luciano H. Flores, Ross King, Herbert A. Yarbrough, jr.; <br />and Dorothy O. Worrell, City Secretary <br /> <br />and Councilmen William L. Cunningham and David R. Tauch absent <br /> <br />constituting a quorum, and among other proceedings had were <br />the following: <br /> <br />Councilman King introduced a Resolution and Order <br />and moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Flores and the motion carrying with it the adoption <br />of the Resolution and Order prevailed by the following vote: <br /> <br />AYE: DeLa Rosa, Etheredge, Flores, King, Yarbrough <br />NAY: None <br /> <br />The Resolution is as follows: <br /> <br />There came on to be considered the returns of an election <br />held on the 1st day of May, 1973, for the purpose of electing <br />the hereinafter named official, and it appearing from said <br />returns, duly and legally made, that there were cast at said <br />election 2277 valid and legal votes; that each of the candidates <br />in said election received the following votes: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />FOR COUNCILMAN, PLACE 6 <br /> <br />NAME OF CANDIDATE <br /> <br />TOTAL NUMBER OF VOTES ,RECEIVED <br /> <br />Bill Dibrell <br />Herbert A. Yarbrough, Jr. <br /> <br />1174 <br />1103 <br /> <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />That said election was duly called; that notice of said election <br />was given in accordance with law, and that said election was <br />held in accordance with law, and that Bill Dibrell was duly <br />elected Councilman, Place 6 at said election, and is hereby <br />declared duly elected to said office, subject to the taking of <br />his oath. <br />It is further found and determined that in accordance <br />with the Order of this governing body the Secretary posted <br />written notice of the date, place and subject of this <br />meeting on the bulletin board located in the City Hall, <br />a place convenient to the public, and said notice having <br />been so posted and remaining posted continuously for at <br />least three days preceding the date of this meeting.
