<br />32 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1973-24-R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, ACCEPTING THE <br />OFFER OF LEE SWIFT TO DONATE LAND FOR PARK <br />USE AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE <br />RESTRICTIVE COVENANTS COMMITTING THE LAND <br />TO PARK USE ONLY. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />WHEREAS, George Lee Swift, of San Marcos, Texas, and Washington, <br />D.C., has offered to donate land to the City of San Marcos for <br />park use; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that such offer is <br />consistent with the concept of neighborhood park facilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is appreciative of concerned and <br />generous citizens committed to the concept of neighborhood parks; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Swift has further donated $1,000.00 for the <br />improvement of the park established herein; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that such land should <br />be committed to perpetual use as parkland; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />Part 1. That the offer of George Lee Swift to donate Lots One <br />(1) and Two (2), Block Four (4), C.D. Wallace Addition in the <br />City of San Marcos for park use and to donate $1,000.00 for <br />designation and improvement of park be, and is hereby, in all <br />things approved and accepted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Part 2. That the Mayor be, and is hereby, authorized to execute <br />restrictive covenants contained in Mr. Swift's deed to the City <br />of San Marcos committing the above described land to perpetual <br />use as parkland and maintaining said land for park use for the <br />life of said restrictive covenants. <br /> <br />Part 3. That the land herein committed to park use be established <br />as a neighborhood park within the City and that the park be known <br />from this time forward as the flMERTON AND JULIE SWIFT MEMORIAL PARK". <br /> <br />Part 4. That this Resolution shall take effect immediately from <br />and after its passage. <br /> <br />Adopted this 26th day of November A.D. 1973. <br /> <br />Ju~ad~lp-P <br /> <br />Eddy i.
