<br />1972-3 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ORDINANCE WHICH PROVIDES <br />FOR THE REGULATION, LICENSING, IMPOUNDING, SELLING <br />AND DISPOSING OF ANIMALS BY ADDITIONAllY PROVIDING <br />~R THE IMPOUNDING OF DOGS RUNNING AT lARGE; PRO- <br />VIDING A NEW SECTION OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF <br />THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, TO BE DESIGNATED <br />SECTION 3-20; DELETING SECTION 3-46 AND REPLACING <br />IT WITH A NEW SECTION UNDER THE SAME NUMBER; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />BE I1l' ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />THAT THE FOllOWING SECTION BE ADDED TO ARTICLE 11 OF THE CODE <br />OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 3-20: It shall be unlawful for any person owning any <br />animal to permit or force such animal to run at large upon the <br />City streets, avenues, alleys, parks or other public property <br />of the City, or to permit or force such animal to run at large <br />or go in or upon the premises owned or in possession of any <br />other person in the City. The term "at large# as used in this <br />division shall be taken to include any animal off its owner's <br />premises without means of restraint. <br /> <br />111. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />THAT SECTION 3-46 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, BE DELETED AND A NEW SECTION ENTERED <br />UNDER THE SAME NUMBER, TO READ: <br /> <br />SECTION 3-46: There shall be charged a pound fee of One <br />Dollar ($1.00) for every dog, and Five Dollars ($S.OO)for <br />every cow, horse, jack, jennet, sheep, goat or like animal <br />impounded under the provision of this Article; and an addition- <br />al fee of One Dollar ($1.00) per day for each day or fraction <br />thereof that any dog remains in such pound; and Two Dollars <br />($2.00) per day or fraction thereof that any cow, horse, jack, <br />jennet, sheep, goat or like animal remains in such pound. <br /> <br />IV. <br /> <br />This Ordinance shall take effect from and after the date of <br />its passage and publication as required by the provisions of <br />the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED ON first reading January 24, 1972. <br /> <br />PASSED AND APPROVED ON second reading February 14, 1972. <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED February 28, 1972. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~u <br /> <br />Dorothy <br />City Se r <br /> <br /> <br />II J!L <br /> <br /> <br />~~~1?1~~u( <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />PPR"SVE,D, ",A, S, T,O, FO~RM: <br />t",' "kn, t"I' <br />, j' II ~, .
