<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />/ <br />(,;. <br /> <br />1972-4 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING CERTAiN TERRITORY <br />ADJOINING THE CITY LIMITS OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, INTO SAID CITY. <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY , <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the owners of a strip of land, said strip not ex- <br />ce~ding one-half (~) mile in width, being contiguous and <br />adjacent to the present residents, qualified to vote for <br /> <br />members of the State legislature, have petitioned the City of <br /> <br />San Marcos to annex said strip of land within its municipal <br /> <br />limits, a copy of said petition, with plat and metes and bounds <br />decription, being hereto attached, marked "EXHIBIT A", and <br />made a part hereof for all pertinent purposes; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it will be of signal advantage to the City of San Marcos <br /> <br />to annex said strip of land within its municipal limits: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of <br /> <br />San Marcos, Texas, that said strip of land be and the same is <br /> <br />hereby received as a , part of the City of San Marcos, and the <br /> <br />corporate limits of the City of San Marcos are hereby extended <br /> <br />so as to include said strip of land, and from henceforth the <br />territory so received and annexed shall be bound by the acts <br />and ordinances of said City, in accordance with law. <br /> <br />Said strip of land is zoned "R-l", single- family residential. <br /> <br />An emergency existing, endangering the public health and <br />welfare, the provisions of the Charter which ordinarily require <br />that ordinances shall be read on three several days, and that <br />no ordinance shall be effective until the expiration of ten (10) <br />days following the date of its final passage, shall be dispensed <br />with, and this ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its <br />passage by the City Council, and publication in a newspaper of <br />general circulation within the City of San Marcos, Texas. <br /> <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 28th day of February, 1972. <br /> <br />~. ~~b' <br /> <br />Maypr <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br /> <br />~t~,~"t8- <br /> <br />City Secretary <br /> <br /> <br />l1J~ <br /> <br />oo:;;~J:~A~ <br /> <br /> <br />Albert M.
