<br />RES 0 l UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the leadership in San Marcos has long sought a <br /> <br />means of protection from ravaging floods periodically <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />visited upon the community; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the most recent devastation by flood occurred on <br /> <br />May 15, 1970, when the City was declared a disaster area; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Congressman Jake Pickle has supported the Cloptin <br /> <br />Crossing Reservoir, as designed by the U.S. Corps of Engineers, <br /> <br />and the,proposed Upper San Marcos Watershed Reclamation and <br /> <br />Flood Control District: <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the <br /> <br />City of San Marcos, Texas: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />THAT THE HONORABLE J.J.
