ORDINANCE 2000- 15 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE AMOUNTS OF FEES FOR ACTNITIES RELATED TO SIGNS; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES. r::ifECITALS: ~~" ~ia 1. Sections 106.041, 106.042 and 106.076 of the City Code authorize the City Council to set the amounts of fees related to signs and inspection activities and sign contractor licensing. 2. The City Council wishes to amend the amounts offees related to signs and inspection activities and sign contractor licensing set most recently in Ordinance 1999-84. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS. TEXAS: SECTION 1. The following fees are set for sign construction and inspection activities and contractor licensing under Sections 106.041, 106.042 and 106.076 of the City Code: Sign Permits: On premise signs up to 100 sq. ft. On premise signs 101-200 sq. ft. On premise signs 201 sq. ft. and larger Off-premise signslbillboards 25t/sq. ft. SOt/sq. ft. 75t/sq. ft. $250 Contractor Licensing: Sign contractor $50 initial $25 annual renewal $25 Replacement license or permit (for lost/damaged) SECTION 2. If any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or paragraph of this ordinance is held to be unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the other provisions of this ordinance will continue in force if they can be given effect without the invalid portion. SECTION 3. All ordinances and resolution or parts of ordinances or resolutions in contlict with this ordinance, including the fee for annual renewal of off-premise signs/billboards set under Ordinance 1999-84, are repealed. Any fees paid for annual renewal of off-premise signs/billboards under Ordinance 1999-84 will be refunded. SECTION 4. Any person violating any provision of this ordinance commits a misdemeanor and is subject to the penalty provided in Section 1.015 of the San Marcos City Code upon conviction. SECTION 5. This Ordinapce will take effect ten days after the date of its adoption, and the City Secretary will publish notice of the adoption of this ordinance in a newspaper of general circulation in the City.
