RESOLUTION 2006 - 1 5 R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING A PARTNERSHIPS IN PARKS GRANT APPLICATION FROM THE LOWER COLORADO RIVER AUTHORITY ("LCRA") FOR GRANT FUNDING FOR PHASES 3 AND 4 OF THE SKATE PARK PROJECT; RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OFTHE GRANT APPLICATION TO LCRA; CERTIFYING THAT CITY MATCHING FUNDS FOR THIS APPLICATION ARE READILY AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT IN ALL MATTERS RELATED TO THIS APPLICATION AND SUBSEQUENT GRANT AGREEMENT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. The Partnership in Parks ("PIP") program is a LCRA program that provides funding for political subdivisions in LCRA's service area for local parks and recreation projects. 2. The City is fully eligible to receive assistance under the PIP program. 3. On December 15, 2005, the City submitted a PIP grant application to LCRA for grant funding for phases 3 and 4 of the skate park project. 4. Due to the deadline for submission, City staff were unable to set the grant application for consideration by City Council consideration prior to its submission. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1 . program. The City certifes that it is eligible to receive assistance under the PIP PART 2. The Partnerships in Parks grant application from LCRA for matching grant funds for phases 3 and 4 of the skate park project is approved. PART 3. The City certifies that matching funds for this application are readily available at this time. PART 4. The filing of a grant application for a Partnerships in Parks Program grant from LCRA is ratified. PART 5. Dan O'Leary, City Manager is authorized to act in all matters related to this application and any subsequent grant agreement. PART 6. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and after its passage.
