<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
<br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT
<br />FOR CONSULTANT SERVICES WITH CHARLES WILLIS
<br />& ASSOCIATES, INC., FOR CONSULTANT SERVICES
<br />IN CONNECTION WITH THE DESIGN OF AIRFIELD
<br />LIGHTING, RUNWAY MARKING AND SAFETY AREA GRAD-
<br />ING RELATED IMPROVEMENTS AT SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL
<br />AIRPORT; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF SAID CITY TO
<br />EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT AND DECLARING AN EFFEC-
<br />TIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas,
<br />by Resolution adopted September 28, 1981, accepted a grant from
<br />the Federal Aviation Administration (Project No. 5-48-0195-01,
<br />Contract No. DOT FA 81 SW-8319) for improvements at San Marcos
<br />Municipal Airport, and authorized the Mayor of said City to
<br />execute said Agreement; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said improvements consist of the installation of
<br />medium intensity runway lights on Runway 12-30, the installation
<br />of a beacon and lighted wind cone; the marking of Runway 12-30
<br />and the grading of a portion of the safety area for Runway 12-30;
<br />and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said City Council desires to employ a professional
<br />consultant to design said improvements after appropriate study,
<br />to prepare plans and specifications for the construction of said
<br />improvements and to provide general administration of the constuc-
<br />tion of said improvement; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said City Council believes Charles Willis and
<br />Associates, Inc., of Dallas, Texas, to be capagle of providing
<br />said consulting services to City; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said City Council on December 30, 1981, approved
<br />the employment of Charles Willis & Associates, Inc.; now, there-
<br />fore,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS,
<br />TEXAS:
<br />
<br />PART 1. That the Agreement For Consulting Services between
<br />the City of San Marcos, Texas, and Charles willis & Associates,
<br />Inc., for the provision of consulting services in connection
<br />wi th the design of airfield lighting, runway marking, and safety
<br />area grading related improvements at the San Marcos Municipal
<br />Airport, a copy of which Agreement is attached hereto and in-
<br />corporated herein for all intents and purposes, be, and the same
<br />is hereby, approved in all respects.
<br />
<br />PART 2. That the Mayor of the City of San Marcos, Texas,
<br />Emmie Craddock, be, and she is hereby, authorized to execute
<br />said agreement on behalf of the City of San Marcos.
<br />
<br />PART 3. That this Resolution shall be in full force and
<br />effect immediately upon its passage.
