Womack <br />Mark Taylor <br />Collette Jamison <br /> <br />Also present: Jan Clark, Stephanie Garcia, Shelley Goodwin and others. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced for consideration an Ordinance on second <br />reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />ORDERING A GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON MAY 3, 2003 FOR THE PURPOSE <br />OF ELECTING A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE 5, AND A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER <br />PLACE 6; ESTABLISHING EARLY VOTING LOCATIONS AND POLLING PLACES FOR <br />THIS ELECTION; MAKING PROVISIONS FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE ELECTION; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Mayhew moved for approval of the Ordinance on second reading and Ms. <br />Tatum seconded the motion. Mayor Habingreither stated the property the <br />Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is asking for is only .22% of the City's <br />parkland. He also stated the Council just approved $30,000.00 for <br />parkland improvements. He feels providing the land for the Hispanic <br />Chamber of Commerce would be good for all citizens. Mayor Habingreither <br />moved to amend the Ordinance by adding the 2.00 acres to Hispanic Chamber <br />of Commerce to the Ordinance, and Mr. Taylor seconded the motion. On roll <br />call the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br />AYE: <br /> <br />Montoya, Habingreither and Taylor. <br /> <br />NAY: Mihalkanin, Narvaiz, Mayhew and Tatum. <br /> <br />ABSTAIN: None. <br /> <br />The motion failed. On roll call for approval of the Ordinance on second <br />reading the following vote was recorded: <br /> <br /> <br />
