<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
<br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AWARDING AND
<br />APPROVING A CONTRACT FOR INSTALLATIONS
<br />AND MODIFICATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT
<br />THREE INTERSECTIONS WITHIN THE CORPORATE
<br />LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS,
<br />TO HALLMARK ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS, INC.
<br />OF SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
<br />MANAGER OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT
<br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas
<br />believes there is a need for the installation of traffic signals
<br />at the intersection of Thorpe Lane and Bugg Lane and the inter-
<br />section of Broadway Street and State Highway 123 in the City of
<br />San Marcos and the modification of the traffic signal located
<br />at the intersection of Edward Gary Street and Hopkins Street
<br />ln said city; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the State Department of Highways and Public
<br />Transportaion has recommended on March 19, 1977 the installation
<br />of the traffic signal at Thorpe Lane and Bugg Lane; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said Department has recommended, on September 29,
<br />1976, the installation of the traffic signal at State Highway
<br />123 and Broadway Street; and,
<br />

<br />WHEREAS, the Budget (1979-1980) for said city, adopted
<br />September 10, 1979, appropriated twenty five thousand dollars
<br />($25,000.00) of Revenue Sharing Entitlements 9 and 10 for
<br />the installation of said traffic signal at Thorpe Lane and Bugg
<br />Lane; fourteen thousand five hundred dollars ($14,500.00) for
<br />the modification of said traffic signal at Edward Gary Street
<br />and Hopkins Street; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, twenty five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) was
<br />appropriated for the installation of said traffic signal at
<br />State Highway 123 and Broadway Street from council reorganiza-
<br />tion savings realized during the 1978-1979 fiscal year; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos duly advertised for bids
<br />for said traffic signal installations and modification; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, bids received for said traffic signal installa-
<br />tions and modification were duly and publicly opened at City
<br />Hall in said city on January 31, 1980; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, after due consideration the City Council of said
<br />city has determined that Hallmark Electrical Contractors Inc.
<br />of San Antonio, Texas is the lowest responsible bidder meeting
<br />the requirements of said City; and,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said Council desires to award the contract for
<br />said traffic signal installations and modification, said contract
<br />to be in the amount of sixty four thousand four hundred thirty
<br />dollars ($64,430.00) to Hallmark Electrical Contractors Inc.,
<br />of San Antonio, Texas; now, therefore,

<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
<br />MARCOS, TEXAS;
<br />
<br />PART 1. That the bid of Hallmark Electrical Contractors,
<br />Inc. of San Antonio, Texas in the amount of sixty four thousand
<br />four hundred thirty dollars ($64,430.00) be, and ~s he~eb~ aocepted
<br />as the lowest responsible bid for the installation of traffic
<br />signals at the intersection of Thorpe Lane and Bugg Lane and the
