<br />119 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1980-25R <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING A <br />CONTRACT BETWEEN THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT <br />OF CO~rnUNITY AFFAIRS AND THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS, TEXAS FOR THE PERFORMANCE <br />BY CITY OF PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT AND <br />TRAINING ACTIVITIES PERTAINING TO <br />POSITION DESCRIPTIONS FOR CITY EMPLOYEES, <br />CITY'S COMPENSATION PLAN, CITY'S PERSONNEL <br />POLICIES AND PROCEDURES AND CITY'S AFFIRMA- <br />TIVE ACTION PLAN, AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID CONTRACT AND DE- <br />CLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, <br />Texas authorized the City, by Resolution adopted October <br />22, 1979, to submit an application entitled "San Marcos <br />Personnel Improvement Program" pursuant to the Intergovern- <br />mental Personnel Act of 1970; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said City wishes to enter into a contract with <br />the Texas Department of Community Affairs for the provision <br />by City of activities designed to update and improve position <br />descriptions for city employees, the compensation plan for <br />city employees, the personnel policies and procedures for <br />the city; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />PART 1. That the contract between the Texas Department <br />of Community Affairs and the City of San Marcos for the <br />performance by city of personnel management and training <br />activities pertaining to position descriptions for city em- <br />ployees, the city's compensation plan, the city's personnel <br />policies and procedures and city's affirmative action plan, <br />a copy of said contract being attached hereto and incorporated <br />herein for all intents and purposes, be, and is hereby, in <br />all things approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. That the City Manager, of said City, Texas, A.C. <br />Gonzalez, be, and is hereby authorized to execute said agree- <br />ment on behalf of said City. <br /> <br />PART 3.
