The purpose of Change
Order #4 on the Victory Gardens Phase I project was to authorize
the placement of a 6" water line in the intersection of Roosevelt
and Patton Streets before the final course of asphalt was placed
on the street. The water line is needed for Phase II improvements
for which preliminary plans had recently been received by staff.
Mr. Cavazos moved the change order be approved. Mr. James seconded
the motion, which passed unanimously.

Mrs. Hambrick reported to the Council that the preliminary plans
for Phase II, street, drainage and utility improvements for Armstrong,
Alabama, Grove, Hull, Camacho, MacArthur and Railroad Streets,
had been received and contained certain recommendations by consulting
engineers. Since the preliminary cost estimate exceeded the
budgeted amount by about $80,000, it was recommended that the
streets be constructed with an 8 inch crushed stone base and l~ inches
of asphalt, that Grove and Hull Streets be constructed at 24 feet, and
that the sidewalks be deleted. Council suggested the sidewalks
be designed and bid as an alternate item. Mr. Kotowski agreed with
the suggestion.

The meeting adjourned at 10:30
second of Mr. Tenorio.

avazos and

)/' 0
\().AftJ ~
Karl W.
