<br />ORDINANCE NO. 2007-~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS DESIGNATING THE CIVIL AIR PATROL <br />BUILDING A, THE COMMEMORATIVE AIR FORCE HANGAR, <br />AND THE GRAHAM AIR CONTROL TOWER AS HISTORIC <br />LANDMARKS; AND INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City Historic Preservation Commission, in its meeting on November 3,2005, voted to <br />recommend that the Civil Air Patrol Building A, the Civil Air Patrol Building B, the Commemorative <br />Air Force Hangar, and the Graham Air Control Tower, all located at the San Marcos Municipal Airport, <br />be designated as local historic landmarks. The Historic Preservation Commission determined that these <br />buildings meet the criteria of historical, architectural and cultural significance; suitability for <br />preservation or restoration; and educational value necessary to qualify for historic landmark status. <br /> <br />2. The City Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed the Historic Preservation <br />Commission's recommendations in accordance with the provisions of Sections 1.5.5.2 and 4.2.5.1 of the <br />City Land Development Code, and voted to support the recommendation with respect to Civil Air Patrol <br />Building A, the Commemorative Air Force Hangar, and the Graham Air Control Tower on March 10, <br />2006. <br /> <br />3. The City Council has conducted a public hearing regarding the recommendations of the <br />Historic Preservation Commission and the Planning and Zoning Commission, and the City Council <br />wishes to designate and establish the Civil Air Patrol Building A, the Commemorative Air Force <br />Hangar, and the Graham Air Control Tower as historic landmarks in accordance with the provisions of <br />Sections 1.5.5.2 and 4.2.5.1 of the City Land Development Code. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. Section 4.2.5.1(c)(2) of the City Land Development Code is amended as follows <br />(underlining indicates added text and o'yerstrik:e indicates deleted text): <br /> <br />(2) The following local historic landmarks are established the within the corporate City <br />limits: <br /> <br />a. The Oaks Heights Live Oak Tree located in the 500 Block of Franklin Drive. <br />b. The Charles S. Cock House located at 400 E. Hopkins Street <br />c. The Merriman Cabin located at 150 C. M. Allen Parkway <br />d. The Dunbar School located at 801 Endicott Street <br />e. The Old Fish Hatchery located at 204 C. M. Allen Parkway <br />f. The Commemorative Air Force Hangar located at 2249 Airport Drive <br />g. The Graham Air Control Tower located at 1921 Airport Drive <br />h.
