<br />r- ~ ...S) "- "" <br />..--. a- -~- 8A <br />D'~ ~ c::: '= <br />t.<, 8 i --'- <br />~ ;..> <br />>'j¡~o <br />~'O <br />~,_,: .- - <br /> <br />îb.r;; --- :-: ~ ORDINANCE 1996- l2 <br />"".. -'- <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE ORDINANCE ADOPTED ON <br />FEBRUARY 12, 1996 ORDERING A JOINT GENERAL AND <br />SPECIAL ELECTION BY THE CITY AND THE SAN MARCOS <br />CONSOLIDATED INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT TO A.DD A <br />TEMPORARY BRANCH EARLY POLLING PLACE; AND <br />- DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />- BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Section 13 of the Ordinance adopted by the City Council on <br />February 12, 1996 ordering a joint general and special election by the City and the San <br />Marcos Consoliqated Independent School District is amended by adding the following <br />temporary branch early polling place for early voting by personal appearance, with voting <br />to be conducted at the date and times indicated: <br /> <br />Location Date Time <br /> <br />Redwood Baptist Church April 25, 1996 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br />, <br />2050 Poplar Drive <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That if any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or paragraph of this <br />ordinance is held to be unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the <br />remaining provisions of this ordinance shall remain in effect as if the unconstitutional or <br />invalid portion had not been adopted. <br /> <br />I SECTION 3. That the importance of this Ordinance creates an emergency and an <br />; imperative public necessity so that the provisions 'of the Charter requiring that ordinances <br />shall be presented at three separate meetings and that no ordinance shall become <br />effective until the expiration of ten (10) days following the date of its final passage be <br />suspended, and these provisions are hereby suspended, and this Ordinance shall take <br />effect and be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and after its publication in <br />a newspaper of general circulation within the City as provided by the City Charter of the <br />City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 26 day of February, 1996. <br /> <br /> <br />~~i~ ' ~ <br /> <br />Mayor. <br /> <br /> <br />~~$~ ~9. <br /> <br />Janis K.
