3 .--C; a' D~ ~ 8 <-. - "œ ~ --' - !ò -':;0 ::~ .- d;2 i'l~ "7 ~ ~ ORDINANCE 1996- 17 J4oo.~ L:.... -= .. ~ ~c.;; AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS CHANGING THE NAME OF BROWNE STREET TO BROWNE TERRACE BETWEEN BURLESON STREET AND VIOLA STREET; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. I RECITALS: 1. On December 12, 1995 the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of San Marcos held a public hearing regarding a request to change the name of Browne Street to Browne Terrace at its intersection with Burleson Street and extending to its intersection with Viola Street. 2. Subsequent to the public hearing on that date, the Planning Commission did, on December 12, 1995, approve the request and has recommended that the request be approved by the City Council of the City. I ---- 3. The City Council held a public hearing on 1 7t:h the day of FE".brua ry , 1996 regarding the request. 4. All requirements of Chapter 25 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of San Marcos pertaining to street name changes have been met. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the street name for Browne Street from its intersection with Burleson Street and extending to its intersection with Viola Street is changed to Browne : Terrace. SECTION 2. That this Ordinance shall be in effect ten (10) days from and after its passage, and it shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the area as required by the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas. PASSED AND APPROVED on first reading February 12, 1996. PASSED AND APPROVED on second reading February 26; 1996.
