HELD ON MAY 1, 1993 FOR THE PURPOSE' OF <br />.- ELECTING A CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE THREE, AND A <br />I CITY COUNCIL MEMBER, PLACE FOUR; AND TO BE HELD <br />I WITHIN HAYS COUNTY FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A <br />, UNITED STATES SENATOR; AND TO BE HELD WITHIN THE <br />BOUNDARIES OF THE SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR THE PURPOSE <br />OF ELECTING SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF TRUSTEES <br />MEMBERS, FOR SINGLE-MEMBER DISTRICTS ONE, TWO AND <br />THREE; ESTABLISHING POLLING PLACES FOR THIS <br />ELECTION; MAKING PROVISIONS FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE <br />ELECTION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That a joint general and special election is <br />ordered to be held by the city of San Marcos (City), Hays County <br />and the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District (School <br />District), at the various polling places and election precincts <br />within the corporate limits of the City, and within Hays County and <br />within the boundaries of the School District, as hereinafter <br />designated, on the 1st day of May, 1993, from the hours of 7:00 <br />a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at which joint election there shall be <br />elected by the qualified voters of the City a City Council Member <br />for Place Three and a City Council Member for Place Four, for <br />terms of three years, and by the qualified voters of the State a <br />United States.Senator for the remainder of a six-year term, and by <br />i the qualified voters of the School District a School District <br />! Board of Trustees Member each for Single-Member Districts One, Two <br />and Three, . for terms of three years each, in' accordance with <br />applicable provisions of ,the City Charter and State law. <br /> <br />SECTION 2.
