OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 29, <br />.u Ò r-' [rl ~ TRAFFIC, OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES; <br />-'~~ CD VJ 15 ESTABLISHING EFFECTIVE HOURS FOR SCHOOL ZONE <br />IL1 ji: £::b SPEED LIMITS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; <br />l ' ~Q PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR <br />PUBLICATION AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Chapter 29, Traffic, of the San Marcos Code <br />of Ordinances is hereby amended by the addition of Sec. 29-10(c) as <br />follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 29-10. Speed Limits. <br /> <br />(c) The effective times for all reduced speed limits for <br />school zones are between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., and <br />between 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on school days. Additional <br />times for school zone speed limits at specific locations <br />may be established by separate ordinance" and included in <br />the traffic register. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. A school zone speed limit shall be in effect <br />between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on school days on Lee Street and <br />Lyndon B. Johnson Drive adjacent to Bonham School. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. That if any word, phrase, clause, sentence, or <br />paragraph of this ordinance is held to be unconstitutional or <br />invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining <br />provisions of this ordinance shall remain in effect as if the <br />unconstitutional or invalid portiop had not been adopted. <br /> <br />SECTION 4. That all ordinances and resolutions or parts of <br />ordinances or resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br /> <br />SECTION 5. That any person violating any provision of this <br />ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon <br />conviction shall be subject to the penalty provided in section 1-5 <br />of the San Marcos Code of Ordinances. <br /> <br />SECTION 6.
