<br />107 <br /> <br />ORD INA.1\JCE 19 81-12 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING SECTION 30-7 <br />OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT CHARGED FOR A <br />DEPOSIT FOR UTILITY SERVICE FROM THE CITY OF <br />SAN MARCOS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a review of the sums charged as a deposit for <br />residential or commercial utility service from the City of <br />San Marcos has revealed that the amounts currently charged <br />are not adequate to provide for the final monthly bill; now <br />therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That section 30-7 of the Code of Ordinances, <br />City of San Marcos, Texas, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Section 30-7. <br /> <br />Deposit. <br /> <br />All new residential connections for utility <br />services shall pay a thirty-five dollar ($35.00) <br />deposit and all commercial establishments shall <br />pay a deposit equal to one and one-half (l~) <br />times their estimated average monthly bill, pro- <br />vided that a minimum deposit of forty dollars <br />($40.00) shall be charged for commercial utility <br />service from the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the importance of this Ordinance creates <br />an emergency and an imperative purpose necessary that the pro- <br />visions of the charter requiring that ordinances shall be read <br />at three separate me tings and that no ordinance shall become <br />effective until the expiration of ten (10) days following the <br />date of its final p ssage be suspended, and these provisions are <br />hereby suspended, and this Ordinance shall take effect and be <br />in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publica- <br />tion in a newspaper of general circulation within the City. <br /> <br />PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED this 23 day of February, 1981 . <br /> <br /> <br />Kenneth v.~ <br />Mayor <br /> <br />Attest: <br /> <br /> <br />Sharyl Werner <br />City Secretary <br /> <br />Approved: <br /> <br /> <br />Published in the DAILY RECORD February 26, 1981. <br />
