<br />81 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1981-6 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS ANNEXING TO SAID CITY A <br />CONTIGUOUS TRACT OF LAND CONTAINING APPROXI- <br />MATELY 189 ACRES OF LAND, MORE OR LESS, LO- <br />CATED WITHIN THE EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION <br />OF SAID CITY AND LYING ADJACENT TO PRESENT CITY <br />BOUNDARIES; EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF <br />SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID TRACT; GRANTING <br />TO THE INHABITANTS OF SAID TRACT ALL THE RIGHTS <br />AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS OF SAID CITY¡ <br />BINDING SAID INHABITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND <br />ORDINANCES, RULES AND REGULATIONS OF SAID CITY <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas <br />provided an opportunity for all interested persons to be heard <br />at a public hearing on December 22, 1980 on the annexation by <br />the City of San Marcos, Texas of approximately 189 acres, more <br />or less, out of the J.M. Veramendi League No.1, being that same <br />188.958 acre tract of land conveyed to the State of Texas by W. <br />E. Logan By Deed dated June 24, 1944 and recorded in Volume 135, <br />Page 414, Hays County Deed Records, and being more particularly <br />described by metes and bounds as follows to-wit: <br /> <br />BEGINNING at the South corner of that 70.56 acre <br />tract of land conveyed to the San Marcos Indepen- <br />dent School District by the State of Texas Fish <br />and Game Commission by deed dated June 10, 1954 <br />and recorded in Volume 170, Page 159, Hays County <br />Deed Records, same being on the East line of State <br />Highway 123, for the most Southerly corner of the <br />tract herein described; <br /> <br />THENCE, in a Northerly direction, .with the East <br />line of the said State Highway 123, to the North- <br />westerly corner of the said San Marcos Independent <br />School District 70.56 acre tract, same being a <br />Southwest corner of the said existing City Limits, <br />the Southwest corner of that 1.65 acre tract of <br />land, conveyed to Edwin Vorheier by Banker's Life <br />Company by deed dated October 30, 1944 and re- <br />corded in Volume 131, Page 92, Hays County Deed <br />Records, for a Westerly corner of the tract herein <br />described; <br /> <br />THENCE, in a Northeasterly direction with the South- <br />east line of the existing City Limits to the South- <br />east corner of the said Vorhei~r 1. 65 acre tract, <br />same being on the Southwest line of State Highway <br />621, for a Westerly North corner of the tract here- <br />in described; <br /> <br />THENCE, continuing with the said existing City Limits <br />in a Southeasterly direction, crossing the said State <br />Highway 621, and continuing on to the South corner of <br />the Wallace Subdivision, a subdivision of record in <br />Volume 136, Page 112, Hays County Deed Records, for a <br />re-entrant corner of the tract herein described, same <br />being a re-entrant corner of the said State of Texas <br />188.958 acre tract, and being on the Northeast line <br />of the said State Highway 621; <br /> <br />THENCE, leaving the said Suate Highway 621, in a <br />Northeasterly direction with the said existing City <br />Limits and the Northwest line of the said State of <br />Texas 188.958 acre tract, passing the East corner <br />of the said Wallace Subdivision, joining the South- <br />east line of the Benito Cruz Partition, a subdivision <br />of record in Volume 187, Page 134, Hays County Deed <br />Records, and centinuing on to a corner of the said <br />Cruz Partition, for a re-entrant corner of the tract <br />herein described; <br />
